Chef de Rang

We are looking for a talented Chef de Rang to join a luxury hotel in Mauritius. This role is open to local applicants only. The ideal candidate will have experience in the hotel industry, strong service skills, and the ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences while supporting the outlet management team.  


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Assistant Outlet Manager and Outlet Manager in supervising and coordinating outlet staff.
  • Ensure consistent quality of service and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain outlet safety, cleanliness, and tidiness.
  • Provide special care for VIPs, groups, and guests requiring extra attention.
  • Handle guest comments and feedback professionally, ensuring improvements are made.
  • Assist with staff training, performance evaluation, and discipline.
  • Participate in daily inventories, meetings, briefings, and training sessions.
  • Take care of equipment and report maintenance needs.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required.
  • Act as outlet supervisor in the absence of managers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must be a local Mauritian citizen.
  • Secondary education (additional training/certificates in hospitality is a plus).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the hotel industry.
  • Previous experience in top luxury resorts preferred.
  • Remote island resort experience is an advantage.
  • At least 1 year in a similar role is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations and service standards.
  • Excellent communication and guest relations skills.
  • Team leadership abilities with a hands-on approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of hygiene and service quality standards.
  • Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
