Sous Chef for 5-Star Hotel in Mauritius!

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join the culinary team at a luxury 5-star resort in Mauritius. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an international kitchen and grow your hospitality career.

Location: Mauritius

Position: Sous Chef (Indian / Continental / Asian Cuisine – depending on specialty)

Occupational Permit (Work Visa) Provided – Open to international applicants

Support the Executive Chef in kitchen operations

Supervise and train kitchen staff and commis chefs

Ensure high food quality, hygiene, and presentation standards

Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control

Assist in menu planning and daily specials

Maintain cleanliness and HACCP compliance in all food prep areas


Responsibilities

  • Support the Executive Chef in kitchen operations
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff and commis chefs
  • Ensure high food quality, hygiene, and presentation standards
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control
  • Assist in menu planning and daily specials

Must Have

  • 3 years' experience in a sous chef role or equivalent
  • Culinary degree or professional certification required
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and kitchen operations skills
  • Passion for food presentation, consistency, and hygiene
